French Translation of Myers' Acclaimed Early Novel

The first translation of Benjamin Myers' acclaimed 2014 novel, Beastings, has recently been published by Éditions de Seuil in France. Translated by Clément Baude, the novel, retitled as Le Prêtre et le Braconnier, received the Portico Prize for Literature and the Northern Writers' Award for Fiction upon publication.


"A teenage girl abducts a baby placed in her care. She is pursued through the vivid Cumbrian mountains of the recent past by a priest and a poacher.
